Gimme’ FIVE!

We (people in general) are strange about money and priorities. We get what we want, whether we can afford it or not, whether it makes economic sense or not… because WE WANT IT.

It’s crazy.

Looking at my Facebook friends list I realized something; I have as of today 1,010 friends. If I subtract all the young teenagers, poor college students and Seniors on limited income, I’d guess HALF of those friends have a reasonably good, consistent income with some left over at the end of the month.

What if we, all 506 of us, decided to do something radical and bless someone out of the blue? What if we all decided to chip in $5 apiece and combine that pool of cash — $2,525.00  And what if we just selected someone who was struggling to get by (I know plenty of them) and dumped that $2,525.00 on them in one lump. For some people that would be an absolutely life-changing amount, allowing them to catch up on a late mortgage, pay off a high-interest credit card or get an old, failing vehicle repaired.  For $5 per person.

Yes, I am naive enough to believe in simple, selfless solutions.
